Western Village RV Park site 186
Carlisle, Pa
Momma has the expectation that the pricing for campgrounds in the northern states will be a bit higher than Florida as the camping season is much shorter. The campgrounds definitely have a shorter period of time to make their money with the short summer season.
She did NOT have the expectation that the quality of the campgrounds would decrease. Case in point, our current campground. The sites are crowded together here, unlike our previous campground. We have no cable offering unlike our previous campground. The sites are unlevel front to back as well as side to side. Our sewer connection is as far to the back of the site as possible. Dad has to use the extendable white pipe...fully extended, plus an additional section of sewer hose.
Unfortunately, the ground shows signs of a previous camper who failed to have sufficient sewer hose, so he just dumped and left. YUCK! Yes, there is a dump station available on site .
But the truly amazing sight is the water connection. Words just fail to decribe this spaghetti mess of hoses. We are hose number 5 coming off the same location. At least we only had to use one section of hose. Uncle Steve had to put together hoses to reach his designated water supply on the inconvenient opposite side of his rig. The blue hose in the center of the pic is one of 3 hoses strung together to make the LONG reach to our neighbor's rig. Amazing!!I have to admit, Dad is REALLY good at backing into a site....and it's a good thing as this site came with challenges. By bringing the right side of the rig 4 inches from the stump, he could swing into the site and avoid the vehicles parked on the opposite side of the narrow road.
Then he relocated twice on the site to situate us in the most level position.
I guess you could say set up took a tad longer than usual for this campground with all the challenges to overcome. But we are set up and enjoying some gorgeous weather. The temperature is perfect for sitting outside. The perfect setting for me to talk Aunt Carol into emptying her pocket and filling my stomach with her delicious treats.
When we traveled to Maine a few years ago campgrounds were even hard to find much less nice
