Maine

Wassamki Springs CG site I-11

Scarborough, Me

Another smooth travel day and another first for me.  Last night we slept in Massachusetts so I can add that 'gem' to my Chloe's travel map and tonight we are sleeping in Maine.  Another new state for me.  Momma and Dad have slept in all 49 states, but I'm still filling in my map.  After all, I'm only a 5 year old!!  That brings my count to 24 states.  I think I should be able to count New Hampshire as we took a travel break today at their welcome center.

I got to pee on their grass.  Isn't that referred to as 'marking my territory'?  Momma said it doesn't count unless you sleep in the state.  Okay, so I slept in the back seat while we drove thru the state.  Momma's not buying it!  Pooh!!  She won't add New Hampshire to my map.

Another great travel day with just a few drizzles here and there along the way.  As we approached the bridge

Momma said, "Here we are.  The last state before we cross the border into Canada."
The state's border is actually in the middle of the water, thus the sign on the bridge as well as the one on the roadside.
Right after we crossed the border, we noticed an accident in the opposite direction with emergency vehicles.  Seeing as the accident occurred in an area with no shoulders, the traffic was backed up for miles.

Once again we lucked out knowing that that incident could have just as easily occurred in our side of the highway.  Whew!!

We had a warm, friendly greeting at our Wassamki Cove Campground.  No worries about reading signage to know where to park and register.

Our friendly greeter not only greeted us by name, but he directed us as well.  He also shared with Momma that she would need my shot records to present at registration.  The first time on this trip so far.

Our site isn't very deep, but there is plenty of elbow room side to side.  Once again, we dug out all our extra hoses (water and sewer) for a rear connection.
Momma had tried to get some produce at our Massachusetts stop when she and Dad went to fill up the tank on the Ram but the Walmart only had Dad's Def available to purchase and not the first lick of produce seeing as it was not a Superstore.
So it was off to Hannaford's Grocery Store after we settled in here in Scarborough, Maine.  Lots of fresh produce to select from.

Now seeing as it was approaching that hour when everyone's stomach is feeling empty, the two-legged decided to enjoy a meal at Pat's Pizza.  It only took 3 tries and getting half way into their meal before Momma and Aunt Carol FINALLY scored some lemon for their water.   I know it was Father's Day and the tables were all full, but...... 3 requests???    Uncle Steve and Aunt Carol shared a pizza but Dad was craving a burger which was also on the menu.  Momma enjoyed a small antipasto.  And what did I get?  The same old dog food in my bowl.  Oh well, at least I got to enjoy some of Auntie Carol's tasty dog treats when they came over to play Swoop.

I noticed a little bounce in Uncle Steve's step when they departed.  I guess he was feeling good as the winner of the game!!

I'm Chloe
