Sweetwater Lake CG
St. Matthews, SC
Today is travel day number two and I did my best to help Dad get ready for the day's adventures.

Momma made the comment that she wished I was as talented putting my toys away as I am at getting them out.I only got out ....a few of them. A girl has to have variety, you know. Just enough toys to give Momma some morning exercise bending over and picking them up to clear the way to vacuum and pull the slides in.
It's a travel day. Another state is calling us as we head further north on our summer adventure.
I have to report, it was a challenge trying to nap after we crossed the border and began our experience on South Carolina's roads. They could certainly use some attention....repair!!
But the top challenge of the day became site positioning. It's a real pleasure to slide into a site that is nearly level, but such was not the case here. Dad backed us into our site which turned out to be pretty level side to side. But as you can see, we used almost all of our front leg extension to get level front to back.
When Uncle Steve tried to level his rig after backing onto his site, his front wheels were no where near the ground anymore. I have to say, it's a good thing he had just refilled his tank, he used up quite a bit of gas attempting to locate the best position on the sloping ground. With a bit of creativity, he succeeded in finding a location that allowed him to keep his wheels on the ground and level his coach. His rig is sitting perpendicular to ours. Check out the view from our dining room window. This campground wasn't chosen for it's level sites or amenities. It was all about location. You see Grandma and Grandpa live near by...well not really G and G....just good camping friends that have adopted me. Many of you probably remember camping with Ted and Colleen. And we ALL (including ME) were invited to dinner and games at their home in St. Matthews. Yummy roast beef with all the trimmings.
Momma should have snagged a pic of that scrumptious banana split cake that Colleen served to top off the meal. It was so pretty with the chocolate swirls and cherries topping off the cream cheese, cool whip, pineapple and banana filling supported by a delicious crust. Are you drooling yet? So our campsite is just a sleep headquarters for this leg of our trip. It is set up with a first come, first serve, no reservation, pay by honor system campground. But the owner kindly did mark off/putting a reserved sign on two sites for us the day we were scheduled to arrive so we knew we would have a place to sleep.
The lake setting is nice, with a large grassy area for my ball playing. You can even fish in the lake or just sit under the large oak tree and enjoy the scenery. But we will be spending our time at our friend's home.
We are all settled in for 3 nights of r & r with our camping friends.
