Pocono Point RV site P16
Lehighton, Pa
So much for making plans to depart at noon to head into Jim Thorpe to take the open air trolley tour. Momma even decided that the white pants she had put on earlier today were just not the proper attire for today, so she changed into rainy day pants.
After breakfast, the cloudy skies began weeping....as in drops of rain. Dad had just gone outside to change the non-working thermostats on the water heater. Thank goodness he travels with spare parts! So Momma went out with the oversized umbrella to keep the project from turning into a wet disaster. Mission accomplished. Back in hot water once again! Yeah.
The project may be finished, but the rain wasn't finished so.....cancel the trip to Jim Thorpe. Time to enjoy the heat from the fireplace while finishing the laundry, streaming a good movie as Momma did or spending the time as Uncle Steve and Aunt Carol did playing Fast Track.
By the time 3pm happy hour rolled around, it was still in the 60's but dry outside. Rather than trying to sit outside, it was decided that a trip to the ice cream shop in Lehighton would be just the thing to do. The two-legged piled into the Jeep Gladiator and they headed out to view more of the area as they headed for the Corner Cone. Ooops! If you check their hours, they are open 5 to 9 and our happy hour time was 3.
Time for Plan B which turned out to be a much better plan as there was inside seating at Chantilly Ice Cream Parlor.
What an interesting selection of sundaes on the menu
But everyone decided to stick with a couple of scoops in a cone.... or a dish, as Dad ordered his....an actual ice cream parlor dish.Aunt Carol was delighted with her freshly made waffle cone. I guess you could say it was a much better ice cream adventure than the previous day.
As they toured the local area, Momma decided that living in such a hilly area could present some challenges. Can you just imagine carrying groceries up all those stairs?
Maybe it's a good thing the guys had a bit of ice cream fortification. As it turned out, there was another project to tackle. Steve had previously noticed some water in one of his bays, so after a day of rain....yep, it was wet again.
So Dad got out his camera scope and went looking for a source. It appears there is a leak on the top of the slide so....
