Travel day to Shawano

 August 20, 2025

Fawn Lake CG site A

Shawano, WI

Travel day today.  But before we headed out, Momma went to visit the chiropractor one last time.  He not only does adjustments, but he massages first which really seems to be helping with her lower back stiffness and pain.  He is such a caring physician that he even gave Momma the name of a chiropractor in Shawano, where we have traveled to, incase she feels the need to reach out to someone here.

Well, I always ask Momma for a report on what she saw as we travel because I ride/sleep in the back while she rides up front in the navigator's seat with a great view.  Well, there really wasn't much navigation necessary today as once we got on 29 we just continued to head east until the Shawano exit

and I guess the last few nights of restless sleep caught up to her.  I mean, really caught up to her as the ride wasn't all that smooth today.  I guess that's why there was quite a bit of construction.  Her report consisted of the turns taken when we stopped for our break as she slept most of the way before and after that stop, even during the rough road sections.  If I had known she was going to sleep, I would have swapped seats with her today and I could have given a first hand report of the trip.

Upon arrival, we found a site map taped to the closed office door.  As we were backing into our assigned site, Momma was behind the rig and all of a sudden we heard a car horn.  A fellow camper was returning to his campsite and waiting for Dad to clear the road but noticed a large rock that was bumper high right in Dad's path as his front passenger side of the truck came around.   Wow!  Great to have another set of eyes as that rock was too low for Dad to see.  Momma came around to the front thanking the alert driver and guided Dad past that rock that could have really done some damage.  That would have put a crinkle in our day as well as the Ram.

So tonight, as Momma and Dad were getting dinner on the table, we all thought of Missy and Don as we sliced those vine ripe tomatoes for our BLT dinner.  Missy has a wonderful garden that she shared with us.

So sweet, fresh and flavorful.  Yummy for sure.

I didn't get to play outside today, but I enjoyed tossing cow around inside the rig.
I just love to whip his long legs and arms around.  Yeehaw
