Blue Earth City Campground site 8
Blue Earth, Minnesota
Today was a travel day but a laid back travel day with only 86 miles on the route. With a plan not to depart until 11:30 the gang decided on a waffle, bacon and sausage breakfast at the picnic tables.
The weather was ideal for their outside feast with an overnight low of 66 and high in the 80's by mid afternoon. After breakfast, they headed to Louie's Custom Meat Market as everyone had some room in their freezer for some good priced fresh meat. The reviews were positive so they decided to check it out for themselves. A nice find for sure. Louie's also had a refrigerator case full of salads, cheeses and cut up fresh veggies, seasoned and ready for roasting as well as seasoning for the meat you just purchased. Momma said it reminded her of M & T in Georgia, but with lower prices.
With such a short trip today, we didn't even stop for a rest break. Momma was able to capture a border crossing sign, even though it was hiding behind the trees until you got right up on it.
Dad inquired about their vehicle wash policy. Given the OK to wash, Momma and Dad got right to it and so did Pam. Now that the road grime is gone and we sparkle once again, we will probably travel in rain tomorrow. At least we'll look great as we pull out.
Speaking of looking great, the 'tailgate spa' was open today for my pedicure. My paws are all trimmed up and my nails have been ground down.
I would much prefer to be chasing my ball rather than laying on the tailgate, but ...... I'll be looking sharp when it's ball time.
Some of those peaches we were given while at Eagle Ridge campground were turned into Peach Pudding Cake for dessert.
If the smacking was any indication, I'd say the dish got positive reviews. Now, I can't tell you first hand because not even a taste passed thru my lips. All I got was a nasty reminder of my 'butter escapade'. Maybe because the butter supply is zero now? Once Momma gets to the store and replenishes, I'm sure it will all be forgotten.
I'm Chloe
