Camp A Way site B13
Lincoln, NE
We have left the mud behind and moved on to a site that that actually has gravel. Dad had to get creative when packing up today. The door side of the rig wasn't an issue, but the other side was still a muddy mess. We hooked up and pulled forward to finish some of our packing tasks in order to avoid sliding around in the mud. Dad also wanted to torque the wheels before heading out seeing as they had all been removed for the install of our new springs. The back pad was buried in mud, but Dad got it free and washed before stowing it away. But all that is behind us now and we have moved on to another campground where we received a friendly greeting, money back, and an escort to our site.
Momma was so shocked to hear the office staff say they owed us money that she failed to ask exactly how that happened. They are honest people who could have just kept the money and we would have never known the difference.
We traveled four lane highways all the way today. They even offered rest areas along the way. It was what you would call an easy, uneventful travel day. The majority of our trip took place in Iowa, but we crossed the border into Nebraska once again when we crossed over the river. Rivers seem to make great state borders.
I am definitely much happier here because I will be able to spend time outdoors without anyone worrying about mud. We are parked on gravel with grass between sites. Pam is on our door side. And Robin and Janice are across the road....so we are all close together. We arrived with plenty of time to get set up and catch our breath before Dad drove Momma into Lincoln for her chiropractic appointment. The Joint Chiropractic was a unique experience...not the adjustment....just the fact that they don't accept or file any insurance. $29 gets you an exam and adjustment unless you purchase a package plan which reduces the rate. Momma was told they are in most states so she is now 'in their system'. So she departed the campground with a shuffle and returned with more bounce in her step.
I'm not so sure about tomorrow. Dad told Momma that she had better find a vet and make an appointment, which she did. And tomorrow morning is on the calendar for me. Now the last time I visited the veterinarian, she poked several holes in my coat with her needles and made me swallow some nasty stuff. That was after I had to stand on her scales with all the world watching the magic number appear. At least the number on the scales was agreeable to all. I do love to eat but I am really active so I am maintaining my girlish figure. And the shots and bloodwork are only once a year so I guess that isn't too bad...unless this vet decides I need more holes in my coat. He had better be nice to me. If not, I'll be sure to let you all know so you can sympathize with me....if needed. I mean, I really feel fine. So what if my stool is difficult to collect because it isn't always nice looking tootsie rolls.
I guess I'd best call it a day as I have an early morning appointment that Momma and Dad will be sure I will keep.
I'm Chloe
