Clean up

 August 9, 2025

Camp A Way site B13

Lincoln, NE

Once again we dodged the worst of the storms in Nebraska.  Eastern Nebraska and parts of Iowa seemed to attract the more serious conditions, although this area didn't totally escape storm debris.  Around 5am, the rain and wind escalated and took down some branches and limbs in our campground. It was one of those noisy storms that I don't like.  It gave everyone an early wake up call so they began the day early this morning at 5am.

This limb fell along side of our rig but luckily didn't fall on us or our Ram.  The picnic table is under this mess.

Check out the view from our front door looking out.

As soon as quiet hours ended and the rain had subsided, the staff got to work clearing and picking up the debris.

The campers got involved making piles by the side of the road for easier pick up.  It was a group effort.  The staff spent most of the morning cleaning up.

I heard on the news that a couple who were tenting at Two Rivers State Park in Waterloo, Nebraska (about an hour NE of us) decided to climb into their truck for shelter but the woman was killed and the husband was seriously injured when a cottonwood tree fell on their vehicle.
The nightly news also reported power outages in some areas but luckily we weren't effected.  I'm so pleased that our guardian angel has been watching over us.

Being a Friday, the campground began to fill up yesterday afternoon and evening.  There are many activities for the kids here including a train made out of barrels that they tow around the park in the evenings giving the kids rides.

There is also a long slip n slide that the kids were enjoying as well as the pool and other activities.

It's too bad they don't have a dog pool as well.  But then, Momma and Dad probably wouldn't let me participate seeing as I just made a trip to the vet.  I keep telling them I feel fine so Dad did let me chase my ball.  I LOVE ball time!

I'm Chloe
