Air Museum

 August 10. 2025

Camp A Way site B13

Lincoln, NE

Momma made the comment that there are so many choices of things to do in this area that you don't have to do the same activities every time you stay in this area.  The last time Momma and Dad were here, they visited the capital and the quilt museum.  The university has a really nice natural history museum which is definitely larger than the Larsen Tractor Museum they went to during this visit.

Today the gang headed out after breakfast for the Strategic Air Command and Aerospace Museum.

If we lived closer to this museum, I'll bet Dad would make some time to volunteer here.  There was an area as large as hangers A and B where the volunteer were refurbishing a hanger full of items.  Dad's eyes got big when he made the comment, "That looks like fun!"

Hangers A and B were loaded with displays and information.
There were engines from different periods of time.

Planes that had been built to use in wartime that were later converted to passenger planes.  Dad made the comment that he had ridden on one of those converted passenger planes and 'boy, were they ever loud inside!'

Lots of history here.

Momma said she wasn't aware that many of the wartime planes had been made in factories in Nebraska.

Last night, around 12:30, I had to wake up Momma and let her know that I REALLY didn't like the thunder and lightning storm.  The rain quit around 5ish this morning, but another brief rain fall came thru around 4 this afternoon.  Dad had to scramble to roll up the awning and move his camp chair to a covered area.  He could have probably left the awning out as the brief shower was followed by sunshine that would have dried the awning.

Yesterday, Momma, Dad and Pam when to Menard's looking for a can of butane that they hadn't been able to locate in Walmart.  While Dad was searching for and finding his item, Momma was in the pet section.  Sure enough, she found a wonderful new toy for me.  It's Lamb Chops

with not only a squeaker in the belly, but all four feet as well.  And it is so soft and cuddly.  I was one happy gal for sure.  Dad kept wanting to man handle my lamb, but I was still bonding with my new toy and told him he had to wait for his turn to really check it out. He had the nerve to call me a 'lamb hog'.  Well, Dad, it is MY toy after all.

I'm Chloe
