Sioux Falls KOA

Sioux Falls, SD

Today was travel day once again, but we only had an hour trip to arrive in Sioux Falls where we will be 10 minutes away from A bar K Trailers for our Monday morning appointment.  The other two rigs had a bit further to go as their destination was South Sioux City, Nebraska.  We all waved good bye as they headed up the road this morning.

It was a cloudy morning but the overnight rain had stopped so no one had to pack up in wet weather.

I woke Momma up again last night around 2am to complain about the thunder storm.  I'm not pleased with this weather but Dad told me things could have been much worse.  The weather could have been so bad that we would have had to make use of one of the storm shelters that are located around the park.

The shelters are concrete structures with thick walls, vents and metal doors.  Our new location doesn't have any of those shelters so maybe the weather isn't as challenging here.

KOA's have different priced sites with added amenities for the higher priced sites.  Not only do they offer concrete patios with patio furniture, but solo stoves instead of fire rings with additional patio furniture for sitting by the fire at the KOA in Mitchell.

The KOA in Sioux Falls offers concrete patios with furniture as well as a BBQ grill complete with propane tank on their premium sites.  And no, Dad did not register for a premium site.  We have lots of grass here with plenty of space between sites for playing frisbee.

It was a great afternoon with a cool temperature so I could play until my tongue got long without getting overheated.

Momma and Dad decided that they wanted to locate the site for their appointment tomorrow as well as fuel up.  They discovered it will be an easy trip with limited turns.

With that chore out of the way, the next stop was The Falls that Sioux Falls is named after.

The area has been developed into a lovely park with plenty of parking as well as walkways with great views in mind.

The city has done as nice job developing the area with family time in mind with benches and a picnic area.  There is a nice covered area for the Saturday morning Farmer's Market that takes place weekly all summer and fall across the road in the overflow parking area.  What is that saying, 'build it and they will come'?   Well, the parking lot was almost full and more people were arriving to fill in the spots that were just vacated.  Momma said she was pleased that they took the time to drive to The Falls.  Gorgeous area😊

Then they thought about me as they were driving back to the campground with a stop at Tractor Supply to pick up....oops...they don't have the treats I like at this Tractor Supply.  Their inventory isn't the same as the one at home.  Oh well, my supply may be getting low, but I know Momma won't let me run out.  There's always Amazon to fall back on!

I'm Chloe
