Busy Day

Camp A Way site B 13

Lincoln, NE

Momma found a great vet that was just a quick trip from our campground.  The trip was so quick, I didn't even have time to think about what would happen and whether or not they would have treats for me like my vet at home.  While Momma was checking me in, Dad and I took a seat in the waiting room after I said 'hi' to everyone.

Then the exam room door opened and out lumbered this heavy breathing guy
He made it to the doorway where he laid down to wait for his Dad to check out.  I tried to ask him if the vet was nice and if they handed out treats but Momma told me it was none of my business and to hush.

Then it was my turn.

I stood on the scales and then I felt like I was at a theme park like the ones I have seen on TV.  I got to ride up in the air so the vet could take a closer look at me.
I let her poke at me and look in my ears.  I even let her take my temperature and yes, I was rewarded with treats.  They weren't my favorite, to die for, dried liver treats like my vet at home hands out, but they were okay as treats go.  Dad seemed to think it was duck jerky.

Well, the good news is, I'm really not 'sick'....just a little probiotic needed along with chicken and rice to straighten out my gut.  It could be the stress from all the storms or maybe just something I happened upon on one of my walks.  The lab didn't find any serious issues with my stool sample.

I'm certainly delighted to report they weren't stingy handing out the treats.  Of course I'm sure Momma paid for all those goodies when she paid the bill.  And I didn't get any holes poked in my coat.  Yay😜

We zipped back to the rig where they dumped me off and headed for the Larsen Tractor Test Center and Museum on the University of Nebraska Campus.  Tractors have been tested for rpm's, horse power of the PTO as well as sound decibels for the driver back as far as 1919

.
The museum had quite a collection of tractors

Including a Ford 8N that brought back some memories for Dad.

That model was the first tractor Dad drove way back when he worked for a farmer.

Dad was disappointed as he had hopes of visiting the testing lab, but the door was locked today.  He was disappointed.

When they returned to me, Momma headed out for her hair appointment while Dad decided to tackle the door lock key pad issue.  Project time!

Momma returned to discover that 'Mr. Fixit' had come through once again.  The key pad locking system is in great working order once again.

The next project involved getting under our rig to bleed the brake lines...removing any air in the lines... and getting under Robin's rig to repair a brake line leak.  It turned out to be a dirty job laying down in the gravel.  Dad's yoga mat/creeper wasn't large enough to keep him off the ground.  But they got the jobs done successfully.

Momma finally got her prescriptions transferred to a pharmacy close by for refills, so on the way back from dinner at Hog Wild BBQ, they drove through the drive thru to pick them up.

As for dinner, it was a recommendation from the office staff.  Obviously they have lived sheltered lives and haven't had a chance to enjoy some really great bbq meat.  No ones dinner lived up to their expectations.  In other words, they have enjoyed much better tasting bbq elsewhere.  Oh well.  Everyone is entitled to their opinion.

I'm certainly enjoying my change of pace chicken and rice dinner that Momma cooked just for me.  I didn't even taste that probiotic that I watched get sprinkled on my meal.  I love chicken and rice!😋

I'm Chloe
