Today was rather boring. Dad was puttering around. He changed out a part in Pam's door lock after she got locked in a couple of times and called the lock company to discover that one of the 'plastic' parts tends to wear and then the lock won't unlatch. The rep told her she would ship out a replacement part, which had just arrived, but until then, be sure to have a screwdriver in the rig to remove the lock system incase it fails again. She had just been calling Dad to come let her out whenever she couldn't get the lock to release, but with the cell service on the weak side here, she decided to bring a screwdriver inside the rig.
Momma ran off to the chiropractor again after baking a cake for tonight's dessert and baking some bread. Momma, those loaves look awfully high and airy. You were worried that your starter had died, but from the looks of those loaves, it is alive and well. I guess your trick of feeding it, letting it set and then feeding it once again brought it back to life. Those loaves didn't even need the full eight hours to rise. You actually could have baked them before the six hours that you waited before putting them in the hot oven.
I'm so glad things took a non-boring turn tonight. The two-legged headed out for pizza with Missy and Don after they finished their work day and then.....they all showed up by the fire pit. Dad hadn't even lit the fire when I asked Don if he wanted to play ball.
He just couldn't resist my pleading look and happily tossed my ball for me. Yep, it turned out to be a great ending to the day....even though I never got to taste, much less sniff, that cake Momma had baked and was serving to everyone.Dad sure makes a nice fire.
This is our last night with Don and Missy. We will be heading further east tomorrow while Robin and Janice will begin their journey to Florida.I'm Chloe
