Time with Tom and Nancy

 July 10, 2025

Redrock RV Park site 131

Island Park, Idaho

Momma and Dad seem to be having way too much fun without me entertaining them.  Today they hooked up with some friends they originally met in Florida, who moved to Island Park twelve years ago.

Tom and Nancy know the area well and took Momma and Dad to some scenic spots yesterday including Mesa Falls.

The colorful rainbow formed in the mist was interesting and the blues and yellows looked much brighter in person.

And you just can't reproduce the sound of the rushing, falling water in still photos.  A soothing, beautiful place to visit.

Momma found the tall straight trees interesting.  Tom told her they are Lodgepole Pines used for telephone poles and such.  Momma thought maybe they were so skinny and narrow because they were growing so close together.  HaHa.  Fooled her!

Their pine cones have a different shape to them than the Douglas Fir.

Many of the wildflowers were new to Momma and Dad as well.

Being in Idaho, they drove past many potato fields on their way to feed the trout.  It seems the trout had competition for the feast (bread) being offered by the two legged.  The seagulls were present and snatching tidbits as quick as they could, often before the trout had a chance to feast.

The next stop was a 'treat' for the two legged at Five 11 Main.

They are famous for their old fashioned milk shakes served up with a cherry on the top and a long handled spoon to enjoy the overflow in the metal container that was used to create the shake.  Good to the last drop!
The flavors are not your typical boring flavors.  The Park Bear pictured above began with a vanilla base ice cream with cherry syrup, chocolate syrup and marshmallow.  Dad's treat was a vanilla base with peanut butter and Oreos.

Momma sure had a big smile on her face when she returned to me.  I thought she was just tickled to see me, which she was.  But she was basking in the glow of game time.  No one traveling with us cares much for games so she has been experiencing 'game withdrawals'.  I'm not even sure she can tell you who the top winners were, the guys or gals.  She just enjoyed playing Fast Track with her friends.

Tomorrow we will be staying in Livingston, Montana.  Time to travel again.

I'm Chloe
