Cowboy Hall of Fame

 July 20, 2025

Red Trail RV Park site R

Medora, ND

Here we are again with another night of banging and lightning with gobs of rain pouring down.  This makes two nights in a row, although the rain began much earlier tonight....before dinner time... so no ball today.  I can't even think about going out to relieve myself with this storm getting my attention.  It's a good thing I have strong, young kidneys.  Dad tried to take me out earlier but I told him he was nuts if he thought I was going out with all those loud bursts of noise from the rolling thunder.  No way.  I even had trouble getting excited about my after dinner dog bone treat.  Maybe things will quiet down before bedtime??

The morning was okay though while the two-legged went to the Cowboy Hall of Fame.  We are definitely in cowboy country where Rodeo Winners are born.  The movie not only recognized the famous six pack Rodeo Stars but the Rodeo Clowns as well.  The building was loaded with saddles, trophy belt buckles as well as items needed for ranching.

Ranching is a way of life that has been carried on by families for generations.  Honest folks making a living off the land while raising a family.

Medora was named after the wife of the man who created the town.

Momma was surprised to learn that Lawrence Welk was raised in North Dakota.

Medora is definitely a tourist town with the buildings taking on the appearance of an old cowtown complete with wooden boardwalks

but modernized with paved streets, stop lights and marked parking spaces.  The closest grocery store is about 30 miles away in Dickenson which hosts a Walmart.  Seeing as the refrigerator was out of produce, Momma and Dad spent the afternoon stocking up and returned just in time to carry the groceries inside before the rain began.

I sure hope the weather gets quiet soon.

I'm Chloe
