Old Faithful

 July 9, 2025

Redrock RV Park site 131

Island Park, Idaho

At least they didn't take off at the crack of dawn today like Janice and Robin have been doing.  After a breakfast of French toast and bacon, Momma and Dad traveled the miserable 4+ miles of humpy, bumpy road from the campground to hwy 20 where they headed for the West Gate that would let them enter Yellowstone National Park.

There were four lines of vehicles PLUS a long line of vehicles on the shoulder of the road where people were parking and waiting their turn to get that memorable picture while posing in front of the park sign.

I sure hope all those picture takers had prepaid passes as the gate to the far right was designated for prepaid pass holders only to enter, not sales and passes the way the other lanes were set up.

The views were stunning once again but the wildlife was scarce.

With perfect timing, Momma got to see Old Faithful put on a show shortly after they parked, just as predicted.  I guess that is why they call it Old Faithful.  If you call the posted number, the recording will give you the time for the geyser to erupt, plus or minus 10 minutes.   Momma's goal for the day was met.  A beautiful display that still shots don't really give you the full appreciation of Mother Nature's entertainment.

The impressive display lasted for several minutes.

I know they enjoyed their time in Yellowstone while I napped away the day.

I'm Chloe
