Red Trails RV Park site R
Medora, ND
My playmates arrived early this morning. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw them. Then they shot straight up the bank behind our rig. That's one mighty steep climb that they handled with grace and speed.
Dad said they are called mule deer. Now this guy is much larger than my morning friends.
Momma, Dad and Pam drove into Theodore Roosevelt National Park to see him and his cousins.
The wild horses were in a perfect position for a photo standing around on the hilltop.
The the show stealers were the prairie dogs. You really have to be quick to catch a pic before they scamper into their hole.
It's hard to decide which was more impressive, the animals or the scenery.
It is definitely a beautiful area to visit.
But the real entertainment took place in the evening at the Burnt Hills Amphitheater where the Medora Musical performance takes place. Having been there the last time we were here, it helped knowing the 'lay of the land' so to speak, which assisted in crowd management.
Medora Musical is celebrating its 60th year of performing for the guest who have come from all over America as well as International guests. Lots of talent on the stage with numerous costume changes
The stage scenery is built on a track that slides the building fronts from side to side.
Allowing the horses to get into the actAn impressive show that Momma and Dad were able to enjoy after checking the weather/temperature and picking a good night without low temps like last night or the rain that is predicted to come our way. Of course that doesn't mean they didn't go unprepared, bringing jackets and blankets to remain comfortable when the sun went down. After all, they brought their Florida blood with them.
