Bras d'Or Lakes CG site 18
Baddeck, NS
For two days the forecast called for rain. Yesterday was a nice day to be outside but today, that rain that had been forecast has finally arrived. This is a day for inside activities. Aunt Carol and Uncle Steve decided it was a perfect day for the Alexander Graham Bell Museum
located up on a hillside with a view of the lake. Many other visitors to Baddeck had the same thought. Momma and Dad have been to the museum twice on previous trips to the area so they didn't add to the 'keeping dry on a rainy day' crowd.
Bell was quite an inventor. Beyond patenting his phone invention that he is well known for, he was also very interested in 'heavier than air' flight' and experimented in wing shapes and propeller designs.
You may ask why the museum is located in Baddeck. Bell and his family had vacationed in this area and fell in love with the climate and landscape. He purchased fifty acres and built an estate. Being born a Scot, he called his summer retreat, which later became his home, Beinn Bhreagh, Gaelic for Beautiful Mountain.
Momma and Dad hung out with me today. They told me to 'chill' when the thunder rolled, but I really don't enjoy that noise.
Okay Duckie, we can cuddle together until all the noise stops.Momma said it was the perfect day toss a load in her washer, grab a good book and even do some baking.
She made the cherry bars in a pie plate so it would twirl in her convection oven and served them as wedges instead of square bars during a break from this evening's Hand and Foot game.
Hey, where's my cherry wedge? I just might enjoy a bite or two if you would just serve me too.
I'm Chloe
