Woodhaven CG site F-11
Hammonds Plains, NS (near Halifax)
The day began with a project and the guys were smiling. It seems the new slide topper that Dad had installed before beginning our adventure had stretched a bit with all the rain pocketing in it. He wanted to make another turn on the roller to take up that slack.
It seems one project led to another project but the second project didn't bring on the smiles. This project involved some first aid. OUCH! The roller got away from Dad and bit him on the ring finger of his left hand. It looked pretty deep and Momma asked him if he thought stitches were needed, but Dad is tough and said, "It'll be fine. Just wrap it up." So after applying a finger wrap bandage, the gang headed off on another adventure.
Today they planned to visit another waterfront comminity: LunenburgLunenburg is definitely a go to tourist area that is very attractive, especially at the waterfront. Not only were the tourist who arrived by car there, but a tour group of bicyclists were there. There had to be more than 100 of them. We had to share the town roads with them on the way to the waterfront and their supply trucks were taking up quite a bit of space in the waterfront parking area. Busy day by the wharf.
The Bluenose II was also visiting Lunenburg. It is a reproduction ship that offers tours. A gorgeous craft with beautiful woodwork!!
The older buildings by the water were all colorfully painted and housed restaurants and shops.
This stone building housed a bank.
The guys sat outside on the benches while the gals went inside....until they arrived at the ice cream shop. They had a great view of the bay from the window while enjoying an afternoon treat.

Momma was the only brave one to try one of their cones. The rest of the gang whimped out and had their ice cream served in a dish. I guess that unforgettable, tough cone from Cows made them cone shy, but this cone was a thousand times different/better.
Lunenburg is definitely a colorful, popular tourist town.
After returning to me, Momma and Dad headed out once again to purchase some additional bandage material. They told me they would be right back. That was before they realized that the trip to the store was quickly accomplished, but the return trip took 30+ minutes of stop and go traffic. I guess everyone was getting off work and crowding the road.
That gave them lots of time to study the scorched land and burnt out houses from the recent fires.

If the fire had burned just a couple more miles, this campground would have been torched and our camping plans would have been compromised.
Well, I'm thinking it may be a while before Dad is healed and ready to take on another project.
He really messed up that finger!! At least it isn't his ball tossing hand.
I'm Chloe
