Bras d'Or Lakes CG site 18
Baddeck, NS
Our north westerly route taken us from the southern coast, then on to the metropolitan area of Nova Scotia and now into Cape Breton Isand as we crossed the bridge in Port Hastings. We are in Baddeck, right on Bras d'Or Lakes. The water is actually brackish as the salt water meets the fresh water.
Our ride took us on the Trans Canadian Hwy most of the way so the ride was fairly smooth traveling.
Cape Breton Island is known for it's music. After we checked in, we dug out all out extra cabling and hoses to enable us to reach our connections which were in a strange location. Our water and electric connections are located to the rear on our door side so we had to run the lines under our rig.
Now the good thing is, we are back on a grassy site. This is definitely a 'play ball' site.....and I'm ready!!
The entertainers for the evening played fiddle, guitar and bass guitar. The guitarist's father was the bass player.
The fiddler played traditional Cape Breton toe tapping music including jigs and reels, while the guitarist played and sang from a collection of songs he had written. Both began their musical interest at a very young age and both were extremely talented. A very enjoyable evening for the two legged, while I slept away the evening dreaming about Aunt Carol's dog treats. It sure would have been a delightful way to end my day....snacking on those treats.
I'm Chloe
