Relocating

Evergreen Lake Park site 12

Conneaut, Ohio

It was travel day, but before we departed, Momma and Pam wanted one more trip to Winesburg Meats.  They had purchased a peppered pork tenderloin and it was so good (of course that's all hearsay as I never got a bite), they decided that they needed to bring some with them.  Seeing as the meat market was closed on Sunday and Monday (labor day) and they open at 8 am, there would be no problem visiting the market before departure today.

And while they were out and about, they had read about Hillcrest Orchard not far away, just on the outskirts of Walnut Creek.

What a neat discovery!  An excellent produce shop.  With 75 acres, they grow many varieties of apples and also peaches. I'm not certain if the pumpkins were grown on the property as well, but my guess would be yes.  Loads of veggies available to purchase along with candies, Amish noodles, jams, maple syrup, and the list continues.

During our travels today, Momma and Dad shared one of the honeycrisp apples.  I heard Dad commenting about the juice running between his fingers as he bit into that sweet, crisp apple.  Then I heard Momma comment that she only purchased four to try and if she had known they were going to be that tasty, she would have picked up more.  It won't be long before there will be an apple taste comparison between Ohio grown and New York grown apples...and eventually Vermont grown.

While Momma and Pam stocked up on goodies this morning, Dad and I checked the air in all the tires for our ride and greased the spring shackles...well, 50% of the four grease fittings received grease.  When the tube ran out, he went to grab the backup that wasn't there.  Ooops

As we pulled out of our sites, Pam's tire monitor indicated that she should have aired up her tires as well so......she pulled into one of the empty sites on the first level, plugged in the air compressor and Dad

added some air.  What a difference the cooler weather makes.

Speaking of cooler, not only was it great planning to travel on Tuesday because of less traffic on the road to contend with, but if we had arrived at this location yesterday, we would have been greeted with 46 degrees this morning!  Dad said the 53 degrees we woke up to was plenty cool enough for him.  If the forecast is correct, we will only have to deal with 52 degrees tomorrow morning.  It'll be a good morning to wrap up in the blankets and sleep in.  This is just an overnight stay as we don't enjoy long hauls, so we break up the trip into manageable lengths.  Much healthier on the body!!  And more time available to play ball 😉

I'm Chloe
