Lazy Lions site 9
Graniteville, Vermont
Momma had read a review for this campground and that tipped her off that we should be sure not to arrive before 2pm unless we wanted to pay an early arrival fee. Even though we headed north to use the bridge to cross back into Vermont before heading south, our trip was still a reasonable drive of 2 1/2 hours so.....we departed later than normal and stopped at a Welcome Center and chatted up the gal who had loads of brochures available in order to arrive in a timely fashion.
This bridge to the north was just a plain, non-fancy, road looking bridge.
No steel above us in intricate patterns. Just a road that took us over the water from New York into Vermont.
I suppose if we had opted to take the shorter route to the south using the ferry to cross over the water, we might have had just as long a trip timewise even though the mileage would be less, but we decided on keeping the rubber on the road and be gentle on our purse.
The trip was kept interesting by the 'daring' on the highway who appeared to be in a hurry to get down the road. This trailered boat pulled out right in front of us....so he could make a turn a mile down the road at the boat ramp. We nearly gave him a push.
And then there was the pickup truck that zipped out from the road on the left as we were approaching. I doubt he even saw us. And he as well turned off just a head.
But the Vermont scenery had relaxing views to enjoy and settle the heart rates back to a normal level.
I think you could call our sites 'buddy sites'. Our doors face each other, as we entered our pull through sites from the opposite directions.
Upon arrival, the guy who checked us in had some 'different' rules than we are used to hearing. I am NOT allowed to pee on the grass by our site. We are not allowed to 'clean' our black tank....empty only. And for some reason, which still remains a mystery to us all, Pam had to settle into her site before we could enter our site, even though coming in from the opposite directions wouldn't have caused a conflict. He even stood in the road to block us from moving forward until Pam had pulled into her site. A power trip for him?? After all the campground is named Lazy Lions....I am LION, hear me roar???
I'm Chloe
