Celtic Music Interpretative Center

What do you do on a rainy day?  Well, it wasn't hang out in the rig with me!!  The two-legged took off heading up the coast in what could have been a scenic drive without the low clouds/fog and rain.

They had an end destination in mind.

The Celtic Music Interpretive Center in Judique.

The center offers lunch in their cafe while being entertained with traditional Celtic Music provided by a fiddle player
No, not Uncle Steve attempting to make musice on a fiddle.
These musicians, who REALLY can play.
Uncle Steve was following the video instructions in the museum area of the center.  There was also a video with step dance instructions as well as other displays.  This wall on the left had buttons to push to hear samples of jig, reel, march, polka, waltz, strathspeys, airs and an explanation of those different rhythmic patterns found in Cape Breton Music.

The center no longer does tours with a docent unless booked in advance.

After lunch, they headed back to me after a stop at several gift shops and the visitor center located just before the causeway.  As it turns out, the gal they spoke with used to work at the ferry to PEI.  When we inquired about info on Prince Edward Island, she inquired if we planned to take the ferry over.  We were delighted to learn that the ferry can accommodate our size rigs.  It will save us quite a bit of road time/mileage and fuel.  That means I get to take another ferry ride!  The extra bonus is, you only pay when you leave PEI.  If you depart PEI via ferry, you pay the ferry rate.  If you depart via the Confederation Bridge, you pay the bridge toll.  In other words, we get to ride over on the ferry for free.  Now that made Dad smile big time!!

Of course the day ended with more treats for me from Auntie Carol and card games for the two-legged. I love this nightly routine.

I'm Chloe
