Don't they ever stay home?  Today they took off in the jeep heading for Cavendish.  Today's adventure began at a popular tourist attraction.

The large building that you enter off the parking lot

houses the ticket purchasing area as well as the gift shop and wallboard displays that share info about the author, Lucy Maud Montgomery's life.

 The house on the property that is open for viewing belonged to a relative that Montgomery visited often.  It is the house that is the inspiration....described.... in the book Anne of Green Gable.

Seeing as they were in the jeep, it was appropriate to go 'jeeping'

 

On a road that turned out to have no exit.....time for a 180 and return the way they came.

They did locate the Provincial Park that runs along the coastline where they stopped to grab some scenic photos.

The gal at the Cavendish Visitor Center was quite helpful with suggestions and information.

Seeing as we are on Prince Edward Island which has numerous potato farms and signs advertising fresh cut fries, they asked for a recommendation for some great tasting fries.  Well, either it was an off day at the restaurant or the gal really doesn't have great taste buds, but the recommendation for food didn't live up to our expectations.  The fries were short little stubby pieces and the accompanying fish had been frozen before being dipped in batter and fried.  Definitely not the fresh fish they have grown accustomed to eating.

The sad meal didn't put a damper on the beautiful day with the bright blue sky, the enjoyable scenic views and the lush foliage on PEI.

And I'm happy to report that I got to play some ball today.  I guess that means everyone had another delightful day!!
