Arches

Moab Rim CG site 7

Moab, Utah

Once again, we have been treated to some gorgeous scenery created by Mother Nature with thanks to Doc Williams and President Hoover for establishing Arches National Park.  I'm sure the park access has greatly improved since 1929.  It has become such a popular park that during the summer months, to avoid overcrowding, you need to purchase a timed entry ticket in order to enter the park between the hours of 7am and 4pm.  You can enter the park anytime within your hour listed on your timed entry ticket and stay as long as you like.

The two lane paved road is full of switchbacks and pull off view points along with parking lots by established trails.
Momma said she felt dwarfed in the big Ram as they traveled among the towering sandstone formations.  Some of the formations have been named, such as the three gossips

and of course all the arches and windows

Numerous signs can be found throughout the park asking visitors to protect the fragile ground and keep on the paths.  Momma said anyone would be nuts to want to walk off the path,
unless you enjoy cactus spines.

There were so many interesting, awe inspiring shapes, Momma ran her battery down once again.

There were some balanced rocks such as this one that were closer to the roadway.  Dad made the comment that it could certainly do some damage when the rock lost its balance and came crashing down.

As can be expected, the two-legged worked up an appetite and they found the perfect solution at the food trucks in Moab.

The trucks formed a frame around a colorfully, shaded area loaded with tables. Can you guess which truck got their business??

Now that they had their energy restored, they returned to me for a tailgate party.  Now this tailgate party probably doesn't resemble any tailgating you might have participated in.  It was more like a 'spa' tailgating treatment.....complete with a pedicure

and a shampoo
complete with a blow out...

Just try to tell me now when you pet me that it feels like rubbing on sandpaper.  I not only sparkle but my fur is super soft.

Hey, don't you think I look good enough to join you for dinner out at the Blu Pig?

I think I would have enjoyed that dish called 'The Big 'n Nasty'.  It was like a haystack with french fries, bbq beans, bacon, cheddar jack cheese, sour cream and onions and brisket.  Oh my 😋

I wonder what fun they will get into tomorrow as we have one more day here.

I'm Chloe
