More beautiful scenery on the highway

I was wondering if I would have anything to blog about other than the campground we are departing from with it's well manicured, clean look.  They even put in curbing to keep the stones off the wide,  paved interior roads.

The sites here in Venture RV Park in Richfield are l o n g and comfortably wide.

We had room to park the Ram in front of or behind the rig...long site for sure!  

And check out the table with the park's name cut into it.

It was a nice location just off hwy 70.  The perfect stop for an overnight stay made even sweeter with a military discount. And Pam was pleased to find Walmart so close by....and that leads into the next part of my tale....

We had planned a 9:30 departure but that got postponed a tad because

Pam discovered a flat tire as she was getting ready to hitch up.  Now she really knows how to have the perfect flat.  First, the flat was discovered while at her site in the campground rather than on the highway.  Second, it was a cool morning (52 degrees) so no one had to work up a sweat while changing a tire.  Third, it was a Sunday morning and all the local tire shops were closed.....except the conveniently close by Walmart Auto.  Lastly, she purchased the last tire in her size so she could travel with her spare still available.  It was the perfect scenario if you are going to have a flat tire.

With a team effort, they had the tire replaced and ready to roll in no time.  Pam has been getting quite a bit of practice this trip with changing out tires.  She's now considered a 'Pro'!

Our travels took us thru the Colorado Plateau climbing to an elevation just under 8,000 feet even though it appeared you were descending rather ascending. It was a strange illusion.

The views were awesome as we slipped in and out of cell service.

And it all came to an end too soon when the sign for our destination appeared.

We are settled in and ready for the adventures to continue.
