Camper Village site 56
Tusayan, Arizona
No one had to drive anywhere since our arrival here. The two-legged give me a treat each morning and head out on their short walk to the Shuttle Bus Stop which delivers them to the Visitor Center and the Shuttle Bus Hub
where they can board shuttles for the Orange and Blue routes or the Purple route that they ride in the morning. The Orange shuttle has bus stops at the view points where you can look down about a mile into the canyon and take pictures of the canyon walls.
Everything is well laid out with safety in mind for the tourists although you do have to watch your footing. For the ambitious tourists, there are trails to walk if you prefer, rather than taking the shuttle from view point to view point.
According to the movie showing at the visitor center, you can even hike down a switchback trail with some stairs involved but they stress how rugged coming back up is, especially hiking in high altitude when your body is not accustomed. The two-legged didn't even consider taking that on. The air-conditioned shuttle worked like a charm.
Dad and I were out taking an early morning walk in the campground when we came upon some four legged guests at the south end of the campground. Dad had left his phone on the charger in the rig so no pics but Pam captured a pic of some cousins while they were riding the purple shuttle back to the campground.
Those elk sure are skinny. Our campground is located 7 miles south of the national park. There is lots of undeveloped land along that route for these guys to roam.
So as Momma says, we came, we saw, and we captured the memories with photos and it is time to move on to the next adventure. Tomorrow we will journey to Page, Arizona.
I'm Chloe
