Making new memories

Enchanted Trails RV Park and Trading Post site A 11

Albuquerque, New Mexico

I guess it's a good thing today was travel day, departing Roswell, as the weatherman on the news show said it reached 100 degrees in Roswell today while our local high was 86.  And even better yet, it's a good thing we traveled north until we reached I-40 and then turned west as northeast New Mexico is going to have some bad weather including ping pong ball sized hail this evening.  Ouch.  I'll bet that would hurt a tad.

It's also a good thing we made it to Albuquerque because there is a dealer....Central Trailer Supply....who ordered and just received our replacement converter that killed our RV old batteries, forcing us to purchase a new battery.  Central Trailer Supply even called us today when the converter arrived to let us know it was ready for pick up.  Nice service!  Any guesses as to what tomorrow morning's project will be?  Emptying out the bay to get to the old converter and installing the replacement.  Dad says it won't be a smooth swap as the cord on the new converter is shorter than on the old one.  May take some rearranging???  Just a little challenge to keep things interesting.

Speaking of interesting, our ride was monotonous with the same old boring flat landscape

Until we came upon a flagman stopping traffic heading north.  He was an oversize escort for a HUGE tube that Dad said was part of  a wind turbine.

Crossing the highway

There was no chance to nap when we turned onto I-40.  That was one attention getting highway.  It's a good thing we finally came upon some much needed road paving, smoothing out the ride.  But the damage had already been done!

Surprise!  Momma peeked in the bathroom when we arrived
and discovered another first.  No, the trash bin has become dislodged and lost its lid previously, but it is always empty when we travel, so no biggie.  My water dish slid forward but it was empty as well.  The new experience was the empty toilet paper roll with the wad neatly ribboned on the floor.  It's a good thing I was still in the backseat of the Ram waiting until they got things opened up or they might have jumped to the wrong conclusion.  After all, there have been plenty of videos posted about animals and toilet paper.  I am totally innocent of this latest, newest experience.  And it was almost of full roll!!

Making memories as we travel....
