Antelope Point Marina and RV site 13
Page, AZ
The unusually HOT weather is still with us. They keep telling us June is usually ten degrees cooler than this but......it is what it is. The two-legged decided to book the first boat tour of the day at 9:30 while it is still comfortable to be outside.
The boat pulled out promptly at 9:30 with 13 passengers and 2 no shows. The boat captain/tour guidetook us up Lake Powell and into the canyon for some gorgeous views.
Lake Powell is a man-made lake created by Carl Hayden Dam to assist in the shortage of water, adding to the needed water supply. The water level is low as can be seen by the change in color on the side walls.
But the lake is still four hundred feet deep, so everyone had to practice shouting man overboard....just in case. (Captain's attempt at humor)As we entered Antelope Canyon,
everyone grabbed their cameras to capture Nature's glory.
Momma said she remembers the last time they were in the Lake Powell area, the water was a gorgeous turquoise color. Different minerals in the snow run off and rain have changed the color of the lake over the last 15 years since that visit.
The tour boat was located at the marina just down the hill from the RV Park. Pam made friends with her neighbor who kindly offered us a golf cart ride to the dock this morning so we didn't have to wait on marina cart service. But the cart service returned everyone back to me, only to hop in the truck and head out to view the dam.

Time for plan B....a phone call to Ocala to our favorite mechanic who said if Dad could get an auto parts store to run the codes, he would be glad to interpret the code and even supplied the parts numbers we needed for the replacement def pump. Bless you Rick!!
After locating a repair shop mid-way on our next leg of our journey in Kanab, Utah on the way to Bryce Canyon, and setting up an 8am appointment for our Thursday planned travel day, we may just be able to stay on our travel schedule. If the ordered part arrives as planned and the mechanic can complete the job before closing time, we will all be smiling and breathing easier, even though we have to head out at 6am to arrive for the appointment. Say a prayer please.
That leaves one additional issue to deal with. Momma tried to use the microwave this morning but the items never even got warm, even though the unit sounded like it was doing the job. I guess I'd better hand over the laptop so she can find a replacement micro/convection unit. Life can certainly be interesting and full of unexpected surprises!!
