Venture RV Park site 56
Richfield, Utah
"Dad, have you got the fireplace on again? Now that you mention that it is 52 degrees outside this morning, it explains why it was a tad chilly inside until you added some fireplace heat. Don't worry, by 9am it will be 80 degrees outside."
So today's schedule calls for a 98 mile trip north on hwy 89 then turning east on hwy 70 toward the direction of Moab but with a stop for the night in Richfield, Utah. It was a tad too far for a comfortable day if we went all the way to Moab from Bryce.
Leaving Bryce, we drove back thru Red Canyon....with awesome sites.
We have left the smoky air behind. Last night when Dad and I went out for my pre-bedtime walk, the sky had a touch of red from the setting sun that you could barely make out due to the smoky haze.We don't have any smoke where we are located now, but there is enough wind to rock you to sleep.
Momma said she enjoyed the ride today with the changing scenery. At one point, we lost all cell reception as we traveled through a gorge area with steep banks/mountains on both sides of us.Then the road began following the small stream. The water follows the path of least resistance which means it bends and curves. You know what that means. Dad had to pay close attention to the bends and turns on the highway.
At one point, we had white snowcapped mountains on one side and white capped water on the other. As we approached Marysvale, Utah, Dad spotted a big M It was all good road with interesting scenery making the trip enjoyable.
This campground has contactless check-in. We received an email with all the necessary passwords and codes we might need, along with the campground map to assist us in locating our sites. Once again, there are plenty of sites available. That means no one parked near to help block the wind.
I guess we'll be rocked to sleep tonight.
I'm Chloe
