Made new friends today

 September 13, 2023

St Johnsville Marina and Campground site 8

St Johnsville, NY

We woke up to the pitter patter of rain this morning.  Dad and I had a discussion and we decided to wait a bit before heading outside this morning.  Not a problem for me.  Shortly after 9 the rain stopped so we went outside to splash in the puddles.  Well, I was hoping to splash but Dad had other ideas and he was on the end of my lead.

It has been a laid back morning.  I ALMOST had sausage this morning but unfortunately Dad could tell what I was thinking and a sausage raid never happened.  I would have even stolen a slice of that French Toast made with Momma's cranberry walnut bread if I had a chance.  But alas, it was not to be.

Maybe Dad will share a taste of that new recipe Momma tried. It's a Pumpkin Coffee Cake.

Better yet, maybe he won't really like it and he'll say, "Give it to Chloe."  A girl can dream, can't she?

There were a few gaps in our trip south.  One campground had told Momma they only book 3 months out so call back later.  Well, later has arrived and Momma was able to fill in the gaps successfully with her first choice campgrounds.  Our official return date is October 30th.  We have relatives and friends to visit along the way as well as attending the SE Rally.  It used to be the SE Open Range Rally but over the years, some of the Open Range owners now own SOB - Some Other Brand.  The name has morphed into SE Rally and is now open to all brands.  Just friends gathering together at Hilton Head this year.  One of our friends in the group actually purchased a silver bullet without any slides: Airstream.  I know many have had that thought when their slides 'act up'  The extra slide room is certainly a plus for me.  It gives me more inside romping room and I know Momma enjoys being able to stretch out her table for game playing.  And that is what she did tonight when Kathy and Bob came over with Peanut Butter Pandemonium ice cream from Stewarts.

Earlier today, we went for a walk and stopped to chat with two couples with Florida license plates.  One has a B+ likc Mickey and Janet.  They live in Clermont.  Ellen was telling us about her aunt and uncle and how they are getting up in years and haven't camped in a while.  As she talked more about them, Momma recognized them as Charlie and Cookie.  Ellen was surprised when Momma said their names.  It's a small world.  We may see Ellen and Mark again, as we invited them to camp with our Golden Triangle friends.

Uncle Steve and Aunt Carol are getting closer to home.  One more day of travel tomorrow, the 14th, and they will be home. I'm sure missing our summer side kicks.

I'm Chloe
