Camp Hither Hills site 1
Ottawa, Ontario
Momma and Dad both agreed. The Aviation and Space Museum in Ottawa scored a 10+.
The museum had it all....quantity, quality and attention to detail. Each plane had detailed information on how the museum aquired it as well as details about the plane itself and informational pictures of the plane in its time period.Numerous video stations were found through the museum to take you back in time in relationship to the item on display.
A whole wall was devoted to the different types of engines used through history.
Momma got a kick out of the luggage and mail storage in the nose of this older plane. There was something for every age group to enjoy. Even the youngest visitors could enjoy the museum on one of several toy planes to zoom around the floor on.
The interesting thing happened before they even entered the museum. There is a parking app recommended to use to pay for parking in the museum parking lot. Momma downloaded the app and filled out the information needed.....until she got to the last item. Where was the license plate issue? The only choices were one of the Canadian Provinces. It would not allow any US states...no way....so the she was stuck in a loop of incomplete information and couldn't complete the payment. @^#$#!! So it was off to try their luck with the kiosk. The payment was completed and Momma deleted the unusable app.
Ottawa is a mixture of old and new. The grand buildings built long ago are receiving some renovations. And on the opposite side of the street you'll find the new, shiny, modern architectural designs.
Currently, there is a big debate taking place about 24 Sussex, the Official Residence of the Prime Minister. Should millions be spent to restore the building or should a new residence be built? Historians are in an uproar that they would even consider destroying the building. And there is another group upset with a proposal to use some of the land in the park as the site for a new residence. Lots of turmoil.
We won't be around to see the outcome as we will be heading across the border tomorrow. My paws will be back on US soil after we cross the bridge.
I'm Chloe
