Now this is more like it!!  Grass with an area open for running and chasing a ball!!

Yep, I think I'm going to like it here!!  

The unevenful travel day, planned so we would arrive around 1pm, gave us time to get set up and hit The Scrounge Around today as they are closed on Wednesdays.

Momma said it was a neat shop and well laid out with a variety of items.

 

How could anyone wear these shoes?

Some items were old while some were new.  And some items followed Pam and Momma home.

Dad was more impressed by the dinner he ordered at the restaurant just up the street that the clerk recommended.  Greek's Pizza.  It was definitely an Italian affair, with no Greek influence.  Baked pasta dishes, pizzas, sandwiches on homemade bread, and 'shells' which are really calzones in other restaurants.  Dad decided he was going for the gusto and not let that marinara sauce intimidate him.  (He knew the cupboard was stocked with plenty of pepcid😉)

Pam just got new neighbors.  They have been coming here for 12 years as they have family in the area and have been here for over a month.  They are VERY disappointed in the new owners/company that is now operating the campground....Rjourney.  No money has been forth coming to keep the campground up...and it shows, but the monthly rate has doubled in price.  Plus, the company removed all the cable TV hookups.  Go figure!!  The couple was having electrical issues at their site so they were allowed to move next to Pam for the night.  Not sure what will happen the following night as that site is supposedly reserved.  But I noticed plenty of other empty sites. Why not assign them one of those?  Our grass is rather long and our picnic table is a joke.  The place has a 'tired' look to it when you arrive.  But we did get a golf cart escort to our site.

Momma was leary to follow the GPS for the final turns to arrive here.  There was no campground signage when the GPS said to turn off of hwy 32 and the road looked narrow with a sign stating no county maintenance......but it turned out to be the correct turn.  Whew!!  

I'm glad we made it to my 'playground'.  I'm going to sleep soundly tonight after being in that cool, fresh air and leaping and chasing my ball.  Momma even whimped out and put on a sweater while sitting out in the fresh air outside the campers tonight.  I call the air temp a refreshing change from home.
