shiny ride

 August 17, 2024

Johnny Appleseed CG site 13

Fort Wayne, Indiana

Talk about shiny, polished vehicles.  The Auburn Cord Duesenberg Auto Museum has plenty of them.  Restored cars from the late 1920's into the 1930's.  Imagine the scavenger hunt trying to locate all the parts needed to put the vehicle back in original condition.

no seat belt in the rumble seat....or any seat
This wasn't the first visit for Momma and Dad, but it still is an impressive, jaw dropping display upon entering.

Needless to say, Dad wasn't ready to depart after being there 15 minutes like he was on yesterday's adventure.  No frown on his face today😃😏

The interactive information touch screens were a new addition from previous visits.  So much more in depth information provided.

Just touch any square to flip from written text to a picture

Upon arrival, all the parking lots were loaded with vehicles for a car show... cars from a much later period than what were on display inside.  We were directed to park in a grassy overflow area.  We decided to visit the inside and catch the outside after.  As it turned out, we must have spent too much time inside as the parking lot display had vanished.  No problem as those types of car shows are available frequently and we were approaching overload.

I'm delighted to report that I had a great time playing ball today before dinner.  Lots of nice grass to romp in and chase after my ball.  This would be a great campground if they would quit the nearby nightly fireworks that pop, bang and explode for about 5 - 10 minutes EVERY night.  Pam seems to think it might take place at the end of a ball game??  At least the sound is softened a bit due to the distance from our campground....but I still am not a happy camper.

Oh no, the fireworks have moved closer and are LOUDER tonight, just the otherside of the fence in the Colesium parking lot... and it is after quiet hours posted for the campground tonight.  I'm so glad tomorrow is travel day!!

I'm Chloe
