Moving on

Spring Lake CG site 10

Crossville, Tn

The morning was a tad sad today.  Our neighbors...our good friends..pulled out and headed in a different direction today.

An empty site with just the bag of trash left behind

They hit the road at 9 am while we had decided to head out at 9:30 as we were heading into central time today.

The first leg of our trip took us on the scenic route through the Cherokee National Forest.

When the water is running, there are usually lots of white water rafters getting wet.  Today there was very little water running on the rock filled bed above the dam, so the parking areas were empty.  Dad said he appreciated not having all the congestion of extra cars to contend with.

Ocoee Lake Area

It was a pretty ride on the squiggle highway.

Unfortunately, there is always some idiot who obviously doesn't appreciate nature in its glory and takes it upon themselves to jeopardize not only their lives, but everyone else on the road as they kept passing vehicles on the squiggle road going over the double no pass line.  I can't imagine what could be so important to risk everyone's lives.  I guess his guardian angel was with him as there wasn't an incident caused by his impatient behavior.

Our site is just wonderful!  We can look out our back window and view Spring Lake and the swan that never moves.

With all the shade on our site as well as a soft breeze, we all enjoyed hanging out on our patio.

But before everyone got to enjoy kicking back, there was a project to deal with.  Momma was in the process of settling things as we began to open up the slides when Dad came in the rig and made a beeline for the bathroom sink.  The next thing I see is his head disappearing into the cabinet under the sink.  He said, "We have a leak in the bay!"
The vacuum breaker ...made to last with high quality construction (Don't you wish) ..had gone bad.

Dad located a replacement and had us in working order in no time. Dad said this is the fourth replacement vacuum breaker he has put in the line. Yep, really quality parts for sure😗😞

Momma had ordered some honey from Big B Farm and Monica delivered it today.  She is a sweet lady who loves dogs as well as bees.  I sat by her and let her pet me.

She is so knowledgeable about bees and honey and really enjoys collecting and bottling honey to share with others.  She also makes marvelous pepper jellies in a variety of heat levels as well as lip balm, and a special wood polish.  A very talented lady for sure!!  Momma and Dad enjoy her raspberry flavored honey.

I wonder if biscuits with honey or wheat toast with honey will be on the menu tomorrow morning?   Well, on the two-legged menu that is.  I'll have to operate in stealth mode if I want a taste.

I'm Chloe
