Camping at Gunter Hill

 April 3, 2024

Gunter Hill Campground - site 46

Montgomery, Alabama

"Dad, can't you read upside down?"  Somehow, the numbers on the projection clock got turned upside down when Momma reset the clock to Central Time.  Ooops!  Of course, no one realized it until it was dark and bedtime.  So do you sleep upside down, making the foot of the bed where you rest your head or do you just read upside down?  Now that question wasn't even worth consideration.  Momma looked up the manual online and discovered what had happened so all is well for tonight's projection.

I had loads of company today as everyone showed up for Pam and Carol's sausages

and Steve and Dad's pancakes.

Some even turned it into a pancake sausage sandwich.
Seeing as it was the beginning of April, when we usually hold our Golden Triangle Campers meeting, we held a short meeting following our start of the day, outdoor breakfast.

By the way, did you notice that everyone was wearing jackets today....except me of course...as I always am prepared with my fur coat.  Yep, it managed to get into the 50's as a result of last night's rain....and it didn't warm up very quickly!

Yes, those are ear muffs and a blanket she is wrapped in.  That's one way to stay toasty warm.  Now me, I prefer to warm up with a game of ball toss and chase...if only I could fine someone willing to play.

It certainly is a good thing one of our friends is familiar with the area.  Looking on-line, it appeared that the restocking of the pantry would have to take place by heading into Montgomery for a grocery store, but Bob came to the rescue with a much better suggestion.  Avoid all that heavy traffic and scoot over to Prattville where you will find loads of stores, including a nice Publix.  It turned out to be a marvelous suggestion that Momma and two friends enjoyed.

With the groceries put away, it was time for happy hour.  Where did the day go?  The gang circled up their camping chairs and shared their stories of the day.  Bill and Michele had decided to give another suggestion a try.  They headed to Chris' Hot Dogs for lunch.
Agreeable prices

The business is 107 years old.  Wow!!  I guess that secret chili sauce must be as tasty as Bill and Michele said it was.

The day concluded with another campfire

as I patiently waited for Louise to arrive to play ball before it got too dark to even see the ball.

Another great day has drawn to a close with lots to dream about tonight.

I'm Chloe
