Successful raid

Dad got out the grill for tonight's dinner.  Momma was too busy preparing the corn on the cob and loaded baked potato to go with it to snap a pic of those delicious chicken breasts cooking on the grill.  I get tired of saying, "Momma said," or "Dad commented" so I decided it was time for first hand knowledge.  Where I could honestly say, I...me...Chloe...says......

You see, Dad had cooked 4 chicken breasts.  No, they aren't big eaters.  And no, they hadn't planned on sharing with me...but...I decided if I was going to report on this meal, I needed first hand knowledge.

Momma was clearing the table and had her back turned as she stood in front of the sink.  Dad had gone outside to grab the items needed to be brought inside to wash.  It was now or never.  I quietly raised myself up to the dining room table,  reached my nose over the plate of leftover chicken, pealed back my lips and sunk my teeth into one of those, now cooled so I could handle, grilled chicken breasts.  Oh yum.  That moist, tender chicken slid over my tongue leaving a delicious flavor and continuted right down my throat and into my waiting belly.  Wow!!  It has been a LONG time since I've tasted chicken.

When I was just a pup, I had a bout of loose stool to the point where they took me to the vet.  He said, 'feed her a diet of chicken and rice'.  That was 4 years ago.  I had forgotten what chicken tasted like.  All I was missing was the rice from that forgotten memory.

Well, I mean to tell you, that first big breast tasted like more so I eased myself up for the other breast when, horror of horrors, Momma turned around.  It took her a moment to process what she was seeing.  And then it came......she called me by my FULL name...first and last....CHLOE HIME....and that's when I knew I was doomed.  No seconds for me tonight.

About then Dad came back into the rig and processed what had just occurred.  He looked at Momma.   Momma looked at him.  Then they both burst out laughing.  I guess it has something to do with the fact that I am just so cute and loveable and the fact that deep down, they feel I really deserved that chicken breast.  That perfectly sseasoned, grilled, moist breast that I can honestly say from first hand (paw) knowledge, was scrumptious.

Life is good.....

I'm Chloe
