Momma and Dad ran off to join our Florida neighbors, Tim and Julie who are enjoying a summer at their Blairsville property.  They met up at Jim's Smokin' Que for some fall off the bones delicious ribs.  You just can't be in the area and not enjoy some superb bbq.

And they were pleased to be joined by Tim and Julie's well mannered and entertaining grandchildren who are visiting at their Blairsville retreat creatively named Camp Chicken Pot Pie.

The girls, I might also add, LOVE sweet potato fries.  Girls with good taste!!

The girls have been enjoying brightening the days of Tim and Julie as only a 6 and 4 year old can do. Such bright, inquiring minds with artistic talent to boot!!  They are full of energy gathering and identifying bugs and colorful rocks but still find time to stop and smell the flowers.

When they all visited the Picker's Barn, Momma said, "Now this is what I had hoped to find when we visited that disappointing Fort Payne site!"  She was enchanted not only with the layout of the displays, but the variety of merchandise.

Blairsville also is home to the Union County Farmer's Market where you can find vendors at the 'Trash and Treasures' sales on Fridays and produce and crafts on Tuesday's and Saturday's.  It is remarkable at the number of crafters.  Everything from wood turned bowls to alpaca woven garments and rugs.  You can also purchase local honey, quail eggs and bulk seasonings/rubs to use on your meats before tossing them on the grill or jams and jellies to start off your day with a smile.  Momma said it was perfect timing to replenish her tree ripened peach supply.

Dad even likes Blairsville for their fuel prices.

Our campground is over the border in North Carolina with diesel prices beginning at $5.58.  If we purchase diesel in neighboring Geogia, we pay $5.29.  Something about not charging gas tax in Georgia right now to take some of the burden off its citizens.  Works for us!!

I'm sure glad Momma and Dad are enjoying spending time with their friends but I am even more delighted that they don't leave me for the whole day all by myself.  I sure enjoy my playtime reward for being such a good guard dog.
