Hot days

Spring Lake RV Resort

Crossville, Tn

I know I heard Dad say something to the effect that we were heading north to get out of the summer heat.  Well, let me tell you, that didn't happen.  We just spent a week at a lovely campground, Valley River Resort,  just over the Georgia border in North Carolina.  It was very encouraging when we arrived.  Momma even grabbed a light jacket the first night...but then the heat moved in creeping into the 90's.  Even the trip to Sweet Tooth didn't really cool anyone off,

Momma said the treats were sweet and tasty.  Yep, left me home again!!  And no doggy bag!!  But they did take our neighbors with them.
They have a beautiful Paradigm fifth wheel made by Alliance.  Seeing as they reside in Clearwater, we just might get to camp with them again.  We definitely extended the invitation as they are a nice couple!!  He even tossed my ball for me.  Thanks Howard!!

So today we said good bye to our new friends and headed to Crossville, Tn where it is still warm.  The temp on the combo clock is showing 94.

Last Tuesday, Momma thought she had planned an inside, cool activity.

They headed to Brasstown, NC to visit the craft shop at John Campbell Folk School.  Typical of the way things seem to go, the shop was closed for 2 hours for cleaning and of course the arrival was timed right at the beginning of that 2 hour closing.  All was not lost though.  Instead of viewing human made works of art, Mother Nature's offerings were viewed while touring the campus.

There is a butterfly garden.  A vegetable garden.   Bee hives that noone got too close to.

There were ducks

and even a family of barn swallows where the babies were enjoying feeding time.  Tim was able to capture a neat video.  Momma just captured a still photo.

They keep their nest tidy as the little ones hang their rear end off the side of the nest to 'do their business'.  Of course the spot under the nest is rather messy with all the droppings.

We didn't have any issues with crowding at while at River Valley RV Resort in Marble, NC.  They seemed to have plenty sites available all week.

They also had a pet wash so I got to have a 'private' tubby rather than being on display on the truck tailgate.  No hair dryer was needed. By the time I walked back to the rig, I was just about dry.  Then I got to participate in the high dry cycle.....running after my ball.  Dad knows all the tricks!!

I'm Chloe
