Friends have arrived

 June 8, 2021

River's Edge Mountain RV, Murphy, NC

We had a slow moving morning as far as I was concerned.  You see, Tuesday is the day Dad's dressing gets changed....but this time the nurse was Momma...and boy was she SLOW peeling off the glued shield and then unclamping the tube holder and then cleaning that whole area before applying all the new pieces/parts that make up the whole dressing package.

The morning routine of changing the bag is down to about 5 minutes now due to 5 1/2 weeks of practice, but this morning things were pretty slow moving with the dressing change added in.  It was cutting into my playtime.

It wasn't long after they finished the 'project' that the VanLeigh 5th wheel arrived to park next to us.  Yep, Auntie Carol and Uncle Steve had finally arrived.  I was soooo excited. I think Auntie Carol was just as excited as I was because she came running over to greet me.  Everyone should have an Aunt Carol.

We were just finishing up the Anniversary Cake that Momma had made for Aunt Carol and Uncle Steve...well, it really wasn't a cake.  It was a Blueberry and Peach Frangipane Galette made with some of those fresh Georgia peaches that Momma had purchased at Mose's Produce Stand.

As they looked over, they spotted a truck arriving that reminded them of the Hall's, but it was towing a Cougar.

And then Tina appeared under our awning.  Yep, the Hall's are now proud owners of a 2020 Cougar with lots of upgrades and personalizations made by the previous owners...like that nice aluminum box mounted on the rear.  And the dining table placement by the rear window.
Nice roomy rig with a king sized bed.  Momma says she likes the set up and is sure the Hall's will be enjoying this rig for many years to come!

The afternoon was spent at the Union County Farmer's Market picking up some fresh picked produce.  Momma said she wished she could have picked some of those gorgeous flowers to enjoy, but I guess the picture will have to do.

Did you notice the class C rig on the other side of the covered bridge?  They had to walk over as they are a tad too tall for that bridge!! (Of course that is not the only way in.)

We met Tim and Julie at the market and they took us to Alexander's General Store where you can purchase home decor, furniture, clothing, shoes ....or even visit with Elvis.

Then it was on to Chicken Pot Pie, Tim and Julie's sanctuary.

Uncle Steve and Dad enjoyed the view on the HUGE, log, handcrafted, outdoor sofa so Aunt Carol decided to check it out.

They were even introduced to the neighbors who share the woods, but the bear didn't get close enough to shake anyone's hand.
I wonder if that black bear would have wanted to play with me?

In typical campout style, the day was finished off with a potluck

and one of those noisy, rowdy games of Dirty Uno.

I can't say it was one of MY favorite days as playtime was rather limited for ME, but it was GREAT to see all my friends show up to camp with us!

Looking forward to the next two weeks here in the mountain air.

I'm Chloe
