Drugs at the rest stop

 June 5, 2021

Twin Oaks CG, Elko, GA

One week ago I wasn't certain we would be heading north.  The plan has been to depart after Dad's weekly drugs/meds shipment arrived on Friday, June 4th.  A week ago, the normal procedure didn't take place.  The phone call on Thursday to check our inventory didn't happen so Momma called Coram first thing Friday morning only to discover that 8 am was too early for the staff.  "Call back at 8:30"  When she did, she was informed that the order had been gathered and would be arriving Friday afternoon.

Now imagine her surprise when the phone rang at 3:30 on Friday afternoon to check our inventory...huh???  Coram had NOT put our order together and shipped it out.   Doesn't the right hand know what the left is doing????   But that gal did promise we would be receiving the order in the evening.  Now I ask you, what time does evening end and it becomes night time?  At 10:30pm a call arrived from the delivery driver/courier who wanted to give us a heads up that he was 20 minutes out and would be dropping off our delivery.  I guess it's a good thing Dad doesn't go to bed at an early hour.

Then the BIG question was.....what will happen to the delivery on June 4th?  Will it even arrive?  Will we be waiting up until midnight?

As it turns out, someone either had a case of the 'guilts' or word got back to them via our Dr's office that they needed to do better.  The following week the Thursday phone call for an inventory check arrived on Tuesday and the shipment arrived before noon on Friday.  Things were looking good for a Saturday morning launch.

Dad's med bag gets changed out between 10 and 11 every morning so.....rather than waiting until that bag change hour, we pulled out of the driveway and headed our noses north.  The med bag change-out took place at a rest area.....'drugs at the rest stop'.

We made good time with an average amount of traffic sharing the road and landed at Twin Oaks Campground at 2pm.  Momma and Dad got me settled in and took off for the Meat Market in nearby Hawkinsville, Ga.

They weren't the only ones with purchasing meat on their minds.  The workers behind the counter were keeping busy fulling orders while other customers waited in line
but things moved along quickly and they were back at the rig with their haul in no time.  They only purchased meat but they had the opportunity to purchase fresh frozen veggies as well as cakes

Then it was time to take advantage of all the campground had to offer, including the green lush grass, perfect for a frisbee game.

Come on Momma, quit checking out all those flowers and watch me catch it in the air.

Having fun while on the road once again. Our super summer has just begun.
I'm Chloe
