The Hunley and Charleston

 March 22, 2025

Oak Plantation CG site PP8

Charleston, SC

It was a day of mixed activities.  I got lucky because Dad decided it was a good day to do some activities around our rig...like check the water level in our batteries and other preventive maintenance chores as well as sharing coffee break with me.  Whenever there is coffee, there are always cookie bones for me!  What did you say?  You think I'm spoiled?  I think I have done an excellent job training Dad!

Several couples decided to visit the Hunley Museum.

The Hunley was an active submarine in 1864 that disappeared and had been looked for until it was discovered over a century later in 1995.  The group interacted with a model of the Hunley

Traveling back in history.  The Hunley itself has been preserved for display.

City Market was also visited today.

Some went straight to City Market while other visited after the Hunley experience.

Downtown Charleston has a lot to offer

Including ice cream in a waffle cone with the hefty price of $9.
Maybe it's just as well that Dad has no interest in living here.  I doubt he could afford it!!

Momma decided to catch up on wash and made good use of the convection oven today baking a carrot cake using the recipe shared during one the sessions at the rally

and a batch of Cookie and Cream cookies

The cake was brought out at the hotdog dinner gathering.

where, once again, everyone brought a dish to share and no one left hungry.

Now, you may notice some short sleeved shirts and exposed arms in this picture but by the time dessert was finished, everyone was donning another layer or two to ward off the evening chill.

No problem for the gals!  They went inside to gather around the game table (and feed me some evening treats) to finish off the day while the guys made final preparations for tomorrow's travel day as we head to Augusta, Georgia for a 3 night stay.

Catch you down the road.....
I'm Chloe
