Moving on to Waycross: Pebble HIll

 March 30, 2025

Pebble Hill CG site 16

Waycross, GA

Knowing today was travel day and the prediction had been for rain in the morning, everyone packed up everything but their electric cord the night before.  Seeing as we all were so prepared, the rain decided to show itself later so we were able to begin our travel on dry roads.  Yea!!

With limited traffic sharing the road with us (possibly due to it being a Sunday), we had an easy travel day....well, until the rain presented itself.  But even then it wasn't a nasty downpour.

About an hour into our drive, we encountered out first light rain.  Roughly thirty minutes later, our rig and our shadow, Pam,

stopped to take a break.  Just as Dad was departing the rig with his freshly made cup of coffee, the rain intensity increased significantly.  And where were the raincoats?  In the Ram of course....out of reach.  Oh well.  What's a little rain going to do?  It's just water after all.  Water that those thirsty, colorful azaleas were greedily soaking up as we enjoyed their vibrant display while traveling the highway.

We drove the last of the travel day over dry roads and our timing was perfect for setting up our rig without a single drop of rain.  Unfortunately, those who arrived after we were set up weren't as lucky.

Our campground host/owners are over the top accommodating.  We have lovely pull thru sites with comfortable spacing between sites. We also have exclusive use of a wonderful clubhouse with a kitchen, that amazingly enough even has a stove.  The campground owners even provided dish towels for our use and tablecloths on the tables. The only negative is the location of the clubhouse which they have tried to make easier to access with the use of two golf carts which would be marvelous .... if the rain would disappear.  Dad might have gotten a tad damp running from the rig to the Ram with his coffee during break, but Momma got drenched as she road in the gold cart with Missy, the owner who shared what was available at the campground.  And she had her raincoat on!😏  What began as a soft rain took a violent turn and needless to say, that rain coat did nothing to protect her pants from the heavy burst of rain that the wind whipped under the golf cart cover.  They were caught in surprise damp, giggle moment for sure.

Happy hour was well attended once again

We do have three guys who had some health issues that they blamed on the rich food they ingested.  But it just might have been a 24 hour bug that had them running to the bathroom???  Two of them are still feeling a tad 'under the weather' so they decided not to share their germs at happy hour.  Hopefully, they'll be at full capacity by tomorrow and will be able to socialize once again.

I'm Chloe
