Relocated in Charleston

Oak Plantation CG site PP8

Charleston, SC

We arrived at Oak Plantation Campground yesterday in time for everyone to enjoy happy hour together. After dinner, Robin dug out his Solo Stove, purchased some wood at the campground office and Dad lit the fire.

This morning the day kicked off with bacon, pancakes and optional blueberry sauce for a scrumptious group breakfast.
Steve and Aunt Pam flipping pancakes

Mmm  Bacon

Can you believe Jan and Rick passed up this delicious breakfast to go operate their ham radios?  I volunteered to eat their share but somehow that earned me a stay inside the rig while everyone chowed down enjoying the beautiful morning air.

I would have even licked Steve's jacket clean for him if I had been made aware of how involved he got in his pancake flipping this morning.
A couple of good licks and his sleeve would have been squeaky clean once again.

As with any trip, there is always a project or two that crops up.  Today's project was a slide issue with the Marks' rig.  Dad had spare parts and the know how to perform a repair.

While the guys were busy with the project, some of the gals loaded up in Pam's truck for a Walmart run.

With lunch taken care of and the Walmart purchases stowed away, it was time to gather around the table for a game or two.  I was so full of treats I took a nap and failed to remind Momma to snap a pic.  She certainly wasn't thinking about anything other than which card to lay down and where to move the next peg in that game of Fast Track.

The Orchards, who had to delay the start of their trip due to repairs to their Class A (would you believe 3 weeks in the shop!) managed to time their arrival to get set up before the late afternoon shower arrived.  Our group has grown to 10 rigs with 19 campers.

A few decided to venture out to dinner this evening while others ate in their rigs with the rain showers occurring in an off and on pattern for just over an hour.

The evening ended with great comradery around the solo stove fire for some

with toasted marshmallows and peeps

as well as gathering around the table with cards and the Fast Track board.

I truly LOVE these friends.  They always find time for a quick game of toss the toy before they shuffle the cards.

I'm Chloe
