Augusta, Georgia

Augusta, GA

Diamond Lakes CG site 22

Momma, why is everything green here?  Even our tires have turned green.

Did you say pollen?  It's spring and the sites are located in amongst the trees.

I don't think I like it.  I'm going to get that yellow-green stuff all over me if I sit by your outside chairs.
I guess that's not a real issue today with the morning rain.  It no sooner stopped raining and everyone headed into Augusta to Goolsby's for some good southern cooked food.
The food was tasty and plentiful with several departing with leftovers in boxes.  I know they aren't doggie bags because I'll never taste a lick of pork tenderloin or the broccoli rice casserole or lima beans. Louise said there we so many great looking choices, it was a tough decision to pick just two sides to accompany her choice of meat.

After the lunch meal, some decided to visit the Augusta Mall walking and shopping the upper and lower levels.....8,700 steps worth!  I guess that's one way to walk off a heavy meal.

Others headed off to Walmart and some to Camping World.

Dad's truck drove his load of friends to visit some antique shops.

Carol and Momma had an interesting experience.  They peeked inside the Peach Roll Ice Cream Shop and saw the worker preparing ice cream rolls.  He poured a liquid onto a cold, round metal area and added some fruit that he chopped up and began to mix with the liquid with his flat metal spatulas.  He kept working the mixture and spreading it out into a pizza looking affair.  He let it set a few minutes to chill on that cold surface, then caught a 3 inch swath with his spatula, pushing it into a rolled up affair which he placed in a dish.  He continued rolling 3 inch swaths, adding them to the dish.  Finally, he added toppings before adding that calorie loaded affair to the customer.  WOW!!  Way too rich....especially after all that lunch. But it was interesting to watch the labor intensive process.

So now everyone is back at camp and ready to enjoy an evening of their choice.  I sure hope a gang drop in later to play a game or two....as that means treats for ME!!

I'm Chloe
PS:  After getting to speak with the campground administration worker, they found out that the dominoes would be falling today or maybe I should call it 'Musical Rigs'.  Someone did take advantage of signing up for our group's cancelled site and would be arriving today.  So one rig went to overflow to park (no hook ups) while the other camper moved over one site to allow the new people to move in this afternoon.  The overflow is only for one night as there is another site that will open up on Tuesday.
