Pine Mountain

 March 16-17, 2026

FD Roosevelt State Park site 515

Pine Mountain, GA

Arrival here was quite nice but......Monday brought rain and dropping temperatures.... so chilling that my paws were frozen.  I may wear a fur coat, but my paws are rather unprotected. I had no idea how cold it was outside when I begged Dad to take me out.

It was so cold that the rain actually took on the appearance of snow for a very short period of time as it fell through the air.

Momma decided, after running an errand with Dad to Autozone in nearby Lagrange to return the wrong part, that hibernation would be appropriate. The wet drizzle made those cold temperatures feel even colder and uncomfortable.

Tuesday was dry but still quite chilly.  Some of the group donned warm layers and headed out around the park

and to various places including downtown Pine Mountain to a history museum and cute shops, The Little White House Museum in Warm Springs.

Roosevelt's cane collection

Lunch break

and Calaway Gardens' raptor show and butterfly garden.

Of course there is always a gift shop to visit

Dad decided a fire might be just what is needed to keep warm...but you have to dodge the smoke

A nice ending to a delightful day.

I'm Chloe
