Cotton Hill CG site 57
Fort Gaines, GA
I woke Momma up around 5am to let her know that it was raining outside. It was making me a bit nervous.
Dad and Bob had made arrangements to head into Eufaula this morning at 7:30 to make a donut run. The sun hadn't even made an appearance yet and the rain was falling in a steady flow when they headed out.
As luck would have it, just as they returned with three boxes loaded with tasty breakfast donuts,
the rain stop so everyone could gather for a sweet start to their day with a light, melt in your mouth, glazed morsel.
I went into full beg mode this morning
Now, tell the truth. Could you resist sharing your treat with these sad eyes locked on you, watching your every bite? My stomach was more than satisfied this morning with all the generous offerings.
The rain brought a chill to the air, with a temperature of 59 degrees. A good day for gathering around the table inside our rig for a game of Five Crown.
And after all that sitting around the game table, it was time for a bit of exercise, so a wood gathering crew got to work collecting dead limbs and organizing them by the firepit.
The afternoon zipped by with a game of Mexican Train dominoes.
But before they settled in to play, I sweet talked Louise into a game of ball. I seriously think she likes to play as much as I do!
Upon arrival yesterday, Jim and Michelle discovered that using their auto leveler resulted in being leveled on air. Yep, the tires were off the ground. A conference/help call to the techs at Lippert resulted in a determination that one front jack wasn't operating. Camping World in Salem, Al said they would take a look at it if they brought the rig in so......they hooked up and headed out this afternoon. We were pleasantly surprised to see them rolling back into their site at 6:30 tonight after receiving a replacement fuse. A quick and painless fix!
As all the dogs are well aware, Carol ALWAYS has her pockets loaded with our dog treats.... and now the humans know it as well. All they have to do is read her shirtI get so excited when I see her. I can barely contain myself!
Tim had just completed fabricating a grill to use over the open fire that he was anxious to try out. It was put to good use tonight as several diners grilled their meat over the open flame. With a chill in the air, it was a good night for sitting around the campfire, challenging the wind that was constantly changing directions, giving everyone a chance to share in the smoke.
It was a great day at Cotton Hill Campground.
I'm Chloe
