Departing Chattanooga

Today is travel day for the caravaners as they depart Chattanooga and head for their next destinations.   

Robin, Janice and Blake headed north. 

Now Robin, I know you don't like hot weather, but don't you think 32 degrees tonight while staying over in Winchester, Virginia is a tad too cold?  I guess you are getting prepared for the high of 34 degrees tomorrow at your home in upstate New York.  I'm sure Blake won't mind with that black fur coat of his.

Greg and Kathy headed south

stopping for the night in Ashburn, Florida at Carroll's Sausage and Country Store. 

If you spend the night in their on site campground, you receive a $10 voucher to shop with.  It's like receiving a discounted camping site while adding to your pantry.

And then they received a surprise bonus...one that would have had me shaking from head to tail....

Fireworks were being displayed from the next neighborhood.

 

So with those departures in different directions, there were four left to head for Huntsville, Alabama.

While the travelers were enjoying a rest break, Dad and I were enjoying coffee break on our home patio with Momma's molasses cookies and dog bone treats.  Auntie Carol, I would have gladly shared the molasses cookies with you in exchange for one of your dog treats.  Your treats are always full of love 💗. 

We had planned to camp on a buddy site with Aunt Pam but....

The next three nights will be spent at Monte Santo State Park on the outskirts of Huntsville, Alabama.  Thankfully, the GPS was flawless as it directed the drivers through Huntsville, then taking them on several turns on smaller roads to arrive at the state park.

After getting set up, the group gathered in Rick and Louise's rig to enjoy a few games of Fast Track

And some much needed R&R after several hours behind the wheel

And the adventure will continue tomorrow for the travelers.
