Johnny Appleseed CG, Fort Wayne, IN
Everyone's mouth dropped open and Uncle Steve went into high speed finger action on his camera. What had everyone so excited and in awe? They walked into the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Museum....as in restored Cord and Duesenberg Automobiles from the 1930's. There they sat on the showroom/museum floor under the lighting designed to made them shine and glow.
As a special treat, they happened to be changing out one of the autos. They use a special apparatus to wheel the cars around.
It just glides across the floor as easy as can be. This gentleman had two assistants spotting for him to make certain he didn't get too close to any of the other vehicles as he maneuvered the auto amongst the other vehicles.
Ken Clark happened to be at the museum visiting from Maine. Who is Ken you ask? Just Google Ken's L-29 to see many of the autos he has restored. This is HIS beauty.
A very interesting guy to chat with. We even scored an invite to visit him in Maine at his shop....and he says he is retired but spends all his time doing what he loves...restoring for other duesy enthusiasts.
The day didn't begin at the museum though. With all the rain the night before, a camping neighbor had an issue. It appears that his awning couldn't handle the weight of the water that had pocketed and the resulting crack called everyone's attention to the issue.
Sue is getting lots of hugs from Bunsen is bikers at this campground!
