Shipshewana South Campground, Shipshewana, IN
Whew!! What a busy time I have had. I managed to train Aunt Carol and Colleen to be good ball players. It's a good thing it is a bit cooler today so I could really get into it without breaking into a sweat....although I have to admit, my tongue was hanging pretty low!! I think all my training has carried over to help improve their Corn Hole Game.
The two-legged haven't spend the whole time at the campsite.
Do I really have to go back inside?
They managed to enjoy a tractor pull in Topeka where they closed off a side street for the 'day after the 4th' celebration event. The souped up garden tractors began the day.
Yep, that's a young girl in the helmet trying to pull the sled the fartherest. Momma said she enjoyed watching the spectators as well.
The event ended with the more unusual looking machines boasting more powerful engines.
On Tuesday, the guys were salivating when we arrived at Bontrager's.They acted just like kids at a candy store, loading up their bags with different sized screws. So many to choose from.
Of course they moved from that area on to the other areas collecting treasures along the way....replacement lights, rolls of led lights and parts I'd have no idea what to do with.
They also scouted out a great quilt shop. Just check out these wall hangings.
I'm certain I told you about the visit to Rise n Roll for those delicious donuts. It seems it's impossible to be in this area without making numerous visits.
But donuts aren't the only food item worth mentioning. Scherger's makes jams and jellies with just 3 ingredients...and the fruit is first on the list, followed by sugar and pectin. During pre-Covid days (BC = Before Covid), the shop was loaded with samples of the many flavors they sell. It was disappointing to see that those days are in the past. Momma and Dad just stocked up on the flavors that they have enjoyed in the past.I'm certain I told you about the visit to Rise n Roll for those delicious donuts. It seems it's impossible to be in this area without making numerous visits.
Wednesday they enjoyed a show at the Blue Gates Theatre with triple performers paying tribute to Johnny Cash, Dolly Partin and Elvis Presley. The timing couldn't have been better. It was a great way to spend the time while the rain watered the flowers.
They even got to enjoy the Amish food at Das Dutchman Essenhaus chowing down on the many items offered on the buffet. I guess Momma was too busy lifting her fork to take any pics.
I guess you could say Momma and Dad have been enjoying their time here in Shipshewana, Indiana which has been made even sweeter by spending the time here with friends.
Saturday, Uncle Steve, Aunt Carol and we will be moving on and leaving Ted and Colleen.
I'm Chloe
