Shipshewana Campground South
Travel day today but only a little over an hour to our destination....Shipshewana. We could tell we were getting close when we began to see the buggies on the road.
This area has a lot of Amish.
Our campground doesn't turn over until noon and arriving just before noon, Uncle Steve and Aunt Carol's site was ready for them, but our site had a rig on it. The couple had just picked up their rig that they had ordered in January and they were still packing up. No problem. We are retired with a laid back schedule.
Would you believe that they headed off for lunch without me? They were on their way to enjoy a lunch at Rise N Roll............famous for their Carmel Cinnamon Donuts.....and you can get them stuffed with ice cream. This was a first time experience for Uncle Steve and Aunt Carol. They are already planning their next visit which won't be tomorrow as everything goes quiet on Sunday. And because the 4th of July falls on a Sunday, there is a good chance that they will be closed on Monday as a holiday. But the stars are shining down on them. Rise N Roll will be baking and serving up their sandwiches and donuts on Monday until 5pm.
At the MEC (Michiana Entertainment Center), they were holding the Morgan Horse Show.
Lots of catching up to do!!
I'm Chloe
